My Worthwhile Weekend~ #LateUpload

Sorry for the long break between my posts dear readers. So yeah, I have a reason for that. Over the weekends I was out exploring the world as a start-up entrepreneur.

So, today is- iM4U's Start-up+Design Workshop under the Entrepreneur University programme

First, the workshop I attended on the previous Saturday and Sunday. “I wouldn’t call this a workshop actually…. Not even a programme… It is more like a preaching for the young entrepreneurs in Malaysia.” Said Bernard, the Chief Strategist of the Entrepreneur University programme by 1Malaysia4Youth.
To my fellow international readers, 1Malaysia4Youth, or better known as iM4U is a programme under the government.

Before registering myself for this event, I read through the details of the event, like everyone would do and I saw this part where it said that only for the first 50 person. I was VERY SHOCKED! Because, it is a government program. I’m not tryna make anyone look bad here but, as the norm in Malaysia, whenever it is a government project, it must be benefitting to many (or more likely most) of the people around that area. So, I rushed through my registration.

When I arrived the location with my best friend, Josephine, we registered ourselves and we saw around 10-12 people around there taking their breakfast (we will come back to the food part later). And, we were already late by half an hour. (Searching for the location was a great deal- USM was so damn big!) So, we took our breakfast and entered the hall when the session started with about 9.15. To my surprise, there were only less than 30 people who attended the workshop. That's when I realized how much the youngsters actually care and plan for their future.

Before they started, we got to know that out of all the attendees, at maximum 6 people will be selected to the next step, a bootcamp, so the competition started there. It was not like, I should perform better than everyone around, it was more like I should perform myself to the facilitators there.

Then we were asked to do several in-class activities (I don't want to reveal all because I don't want the other students who will be attending this workshop to go there prepared- It's not worth doing that). But, to my surprise, on the second day, I was brought out to Beach St in Penang to receive the feedback of at least 20 people of my idea.(which we had to build with the help of the facilitators on the first day ending on the given topics) Trust me people, IT WAS DAMN GOOD AND WORTH WHILE! End of the day, you realize that, not every of your viewpoint works and there is a solution for any problem (Trust me, I took up a problem which has been lingering for years around Malaysia and the solution I came up with, might not 100% work but, it can start to work)

Overall about the program, it was too good! Ya, I forgot to mention I didn't pay anything to anyone. And the problem was not F.O.C. It was with tax payers money. This workshop is something different, from every angle you see it. We are trained by real businessmen, with GOOD food like Dominos, Subway, and Fish and Chips, and small group of attendees. At the end of the two days, I had the satisfaction that I made full utilize of both the days.

 The most important bit was,
*drum-roll please* I was also lucky to get chosen to for the next boot camp.

Any student who at least had a thought of running their own business, or start-up anything important, should definitely attend this workshop which is happening all around Malaysia in many states.

Thanx for reading my post

Till my next write-up, cheers

Goodbye,
